The stars of Y Tu Mama Tambien reunite for a delightfully turbulent tale of football-mad brothers seeking fame and fortune.

Please note that Rudo & Cursi is being screened as an aged 18+ event.  Patrons may be asked for proof of age at the cinema.

Rudo (Diego Luna) and Cursi (Gael Garcia Bernal) are almost too old to shoot for football stardom, when a sleazy talent scout spots them playing and offers them an unexpected chance. The big city beckons – but will they ever build their mother the promised beach house, or will girls, drugs, gambling and gossip magazines put paid to their high hopes?

Actors Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna and director Carlos Cuarón are set to grace the red carpet for the Gala premiere of Rudo & Cursi on 21 June (and will be in Q&A post-screening), reuniting the trio eight years after Y Tu Mamá También.

This is a really lovely film. It's really good fun and has an honest an open heart at its centre. It is less about football and much more focus is on the sibling rivalry, the story is mostly predictable but it makes the tale all the more fun and interesting. The performances from all involved are really brilliant and it's a really good and very watchable movie. Add to that the fact that 4 of the most gorgeous mexican men were in Edinburgh to introduce and then do a brilliant Q&A. Watch-out though there is one song repeated throughout the movie that you will find yourself humming on your way home.
