This unique retrospective has delighted the EIFF audience, winning new admiration for forgotten classics from the New American Cinema.

There's still plenty left to come. Elaine May's Mikey and Nicky is the story of small-time hoods, featuring John Cassavetes and Peter Falk in an incredible improvised performance. Michael Richie's Smile is a cutting satire of small-town American culture, on a par with Altman's Nashville. Or how about Walter Hill's The Driver, a movie that should only ever be seen on the big screen.

Whatever your preference, this is a groundbreaking programme that affords the rare opportunity to see these seminal works theatrically.

PLEASE NOTE: these offers are only available offline; in person at the Filmhouse Box Office or by telephone on 0131 623 8030.
