VOLUNTEERS (All teams)

Volunteers carry out specific roles across the Festival, working for up to 3 weeks. There are roles suited to all levels of experience, providing opportunities to gain new skills and experience, or to use existing skills to support EIFF and help contribute to the Festival’s success. Working hours differ from team to team – some have clear daytime shifts, others are more programme/events based – providing a range of opportunities to suit different circumstances and interests.

All volunteers have a line manager who is responsible for any relevant training, supervision and support during the role. On-site training is also given to venue and technical teams.

There is no blanket minimum age for volunteers during the Festival, however this will depend on a number of factors including whether the post-holder will be based in venues serving alcohol and/or come into contact with films that may have an over-18 certificate, and whether or not the post-holder will be supervised at all times. Unfortunately this year we don’t envisage having any roles that we feel would be suitable for people aged under 18 however we do review all our roles each year.

EIFF could not take place without our loyal volunteer force.

The rewards of a Volunteer Post with EIFF include:
- The chance to see EIFF films and attend EIFF events.
- Access to EIFF's Delegate Centre with cafe/bar and videotheque, and a wide range of Industry Events.
- A working environment with lots of colleagues who are passionate about film.
- Including your time with EIFF on your CV.
- Staff and volunteers are listed by name in the Official EIFF Catalogue in recognition of their dedication and service.
-Invitation to the wrap party for all our staff.

We’re looking for volunteers who share our passion for film and ensuring EIFF 2014 is a great success. You’ll care about providing a great customer service to our audiences, guests and delegates; have experience, ambitions or qualities suited to the role you’re applying for, and be able to commit to the dates of the role and the ‘All Staff Meet’ training day on Saturday 14th June. Please note that all volunteer roles start before the first public day of the Festival.

When applying you can specify up to 7 volunteer positions that are of interest, starting with your preferred position.

The second stage in the selection process is an interview. If you are shortlisted for interview we will be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time.
