If you don’t know Arthur Russell's music welcome to your new obsession.
A shy farmboy from Iowa, Russell became a classical cellist, a uniquely original singer/songwriter, and a pioneering dance music creator and producer. His collaborators ranged from David Byrne and Philip Glass to Larry Levan and Francois Kevorkian. Matt Wolf’s tender, intelligent film is a fine tribute to an amazing artist, who died tragically young in 1992.
