At the tail end of the Raj, spice grower Henry Moores (Linus Roache) is engaged in a dangerous love affair with his housemaid Sanjani (Nandita Das). As gossip gathers and the story threatens to reach the pair’s respective spouses, Henry begins to grasp desperately for a way to save himself.
