Follow Friday: Media Partners
EIFF is all about the buzz and there would be no buzz without our media partners and sponsors. For the best news, reviews and competitions, here’s who to follow this Friday.
The Scotsman (@scotsmandotcom) are hot on the trail of all our big stories and Alistair Harkness (@aliharkness) will be reviewing with impunity throughout the festival. The List (@thelistmagazine) have 26 years of experience ‘helping the good people of Edinburgh and Glasgow to get a life’ and are the go-to for cultural events info. If it is your desire to ‘Boogie in the Morning,’ follow Forth One (@forthone).
Creative Scotland (@CreativeScots) is the national body for the development of arts, screen and creative industries and keeps track of all of Scotland’s considerable talent. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, Event Scotland supports and promotes all manner of events and attractions in Scotland. Shooting People (@ShootingPeople) - not as violent as it sounds - is a networking organization specially geared towards independent film.
Curating original and insightful events are Dazed and Confused (@DazedMagazine) with music video maestro, Romain Gavras’s, uncompromising debut film, Our Day Will Come. Meanwhile Protein (@protein feed) and Rich Pickings (@richpicks) use film to explore and understand dementia in Rich Pickings: Disappearing Act. And last but not least VICE (@VICEMAG) and Vimeo (@Vimeo) host a Saam Farahmand Retrospective with Jeremy Boxer.
The Nokia Shorts Weekender (@nokia) proves just what’s possible with a mobile phone with Aardman and Wieden + Kennedy: Shooting world record breaking stop motion animation on the Nokia N8. Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky provide the social lubricant (@CuttySarkFilm), although this is not be combined with a Smart (@smartfortwouk) test drive at Festivalhouse@Teviot. And of course low-cost airline easyJet (@easyJet) will be winging its way to Edinburgh, flying in guests of the fest.
Give them a follow on Twitter for their updates from the Fest. You can also follow us @edfilmfest, and use our official hashtag #edfilmfest to join the discussion.
