Biography

Having worked as a programmer for EIFF for more than 10 years, (becoming a senior programmer in 2008), Niall has been involved in several areas of EIFF, from curating and presenting retrospectives, (SHIRLEY CLARKE, JOHN MACKENZIE & PETER MCDOUGALL, and AFTER THE WAVE: LOST AND FORGOTTEN BRITISH CINEMA 1967 – 1979), to representing EIFF in the media and at other international film festivals.
Niall has also been a professional screen actor for 15 years and has worked extensively in television (appearing in shows such as TAGGART, HOLBY CITY, EASTENDERS, CASUALTY, CASE HISTORIES, and DR WHO) and film (appearing in the 60th EIFF opening night film THE FLYING SCOTSMAN, 2009 EIFF Gala screening CRYING WITH LAUGHTER, 2010 Glasgow Film Festival closing night film LEGACY, and the forthcoming CLOUD ATLAS).
