First-Time Feature Directors: How to Get Their Features Financed
14:45 – 16:00
EIFF Press & Industry Centre

Access: EIFF Passholders

Making films is a challenging business and even more so when it’s with a first-time feature director. This session will look at how to overcome those challenges and how to get their features financed in the current funding landscape. Ian Davies runs Screen Scotland’s Market Leaders programme and has helped finance more than 10 feature films with first-time feature directors. Ian will be joined by Emma Dutton Co-Founder of Sharp House. Sharp House is a production and finance house that has co-financed several films, often with BFI as partners, including several from first-time directors.

This session is presented by Initialize Films.
