The submissions process for the 2019 Edinburgh International Film Festival has been extended!...
2018 is Scotland’s Year of Young People, and, in celebration, EIFF will significantly expand programming for young audiences, including a dedicated strand, The Young and the Wild, which will run throughout the 2018 Festival.
Supported by EventScotland, as part of the Year of Young People 2018 celebrations, the Young and the Wild will be packed with inspirational screenings, hands-on events and experiences for young people interested in filmmaking and the moving image industries, including practical filmmaking workshops for primary and secondary schools; in-person events and masterclasses with world-class filmmakers; careers events and advice; and special networking events for young filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
EIFF’s family screenings, Film Fest Junior, will also be expanded to offer even more for younger audiences, while, alongside our established Primary and Secondary Schools Film Competitons, EIFF will launch a Scottish Young Filmmaker Competition, with the shortlisted films screening at two special events at the Festival.EIFF's Young Programmers will once again learn to curate shorts and feature films, as well as presenting their favourite new films at the Festival as part of our new youth-focused strand, The Young and the Wild.
