Director Bio

Toby Genkel (born in Hamburg) co-directed Commando Störtebeker (2001), Das Doppelte Lottchen (2007) and 3D animated film Legends of Valhalla: Thor (2011). Ooops! Noah is Gone…(2015) was his first film as director. Reza Memari (born in Iran) joined the film industry as an editor on movies and TV projects and moved to Berlin, producing several short films as writer, director and producer. His first screenplay Richard the Stork was nominated for the German Animation Screenplay Prize at the International Animation Festival 2009.

Richard is a sparrow but thinks he is a stork. He has been brought up as a stork with his stork family and even stands on one leg just like a stork. Or at least he tries! When migration heads south, Richard is left behind. To prove to everyone he truly is a stork, Richard takes it upon himself to follow them across Europe, making new friends on the way including Olga, the owl with the imaginary friend, and Kiki, the disco-diva parakeet. But can Richard make it to his stork family before it is too late?
