  • Short Form Animation Programmer

Part of EIFF since

Favourite part of the job

It's such a privilege to review all the animation submissions sent to EIFF every year. Meeting Film makers who are able to attend with their film is a particular joy of the job, and it's lovely when we are able to invite a special animation guest relevant to the years programme.

Iain graduated from the Royal College of Art Animation MA. He is himself an Award Winning Short Film maker and Freelance Animator resident in Scotland. His latest short film 'The Tannery' was nominated for a Scottish Bafta and made it onto the long list for consideration for the 2012 Oscars, having won Best Animation at the CFC World wide Short Film Festival in Toronto. Other films include 'Akbar's Cheetah' from 1999. Iain is Artistic Director of McLaren 2014, a collective of events marking the Centenary of Norman McLaren in Scotland.
