Part of the Film Fest on the Forth Strand
As cheeky, boisterous and witty as it is delicately drawn and beauteous to behold, Sylvain Chomet’s Edinburgh-set tale is a truly magical piece of cinema. Our weary hero is a tired magician, complete with less-than-friendly white rabbit! Always in search of a paying gig, the illusionist treks from Paris to the Western Isles to Edinburgh – acquiring a young travelling companion along the way, who sincerely believes in his magical abilities. Rich with visual jokes, seductive 1950s period detail and breathtaking views of city and wilderness alike, this is the work of a master in his field and one of the most gorgeous depictions of Scotland, and especially Edinburgh, in animated cinema history.
Seating at Film Fest on the Forth is done by socially distanced pods. When booking please select a pod that is relevant to your party size - you can choose either deck chairs or picnic-style seating on the ground. There must be an adult in each pod with children. Sometimes there may not be pods left that fit your party size, we're sorry for the disappointment!
