Sofia (Paula Lussi) roams the streets of Venice on her own, as the mystery of her situation is gradually revealed through chance encounters and solitude. There is a subtle sense of magic in the claustrophobic streets with excellent use made of the location’s eeriness, and muted, wintry tones. Argentine writer-director Rodrigo Guerrero has created a classy, understated film tackling themes of loneliness, changing circumstances and newfound freedom that is simultaneously moving and uplifting.
