David Trueba is a Spanish director, screenwriter and novelist. His directing credits include The Good Life (1996), Soldiers of Salamina (2003), Welcome Home (2006) and Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed (2013), which won six Goya Awards. He is the screenwriter of Balseros (2002), the only Spanish documentary nominated for an Oscar. Trueba created the acclaimed television series Whatever Happened to Jorge Sanz? His most recent film is Almost 40.

Taking its title from the Beatles song ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’, director David Trueba’s warm comedy drama premiered at the 61st San Sebastián Film Festival and went on to win six Goya Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor for star Javier Cámara (who recently appeared in Netflix hit Narcos). Trueba’s latest film, Almost 40, was released last year. [15]
