An enigmatic psychological drama with an intriguing structure, Francesco Rizzi’s Italian-language film begins by teasing its audience with a puzzle and then offers up a second-act reveal. Michael (Vinicio Marchioni), a man who initially appears to be either a spy or a killer, and Anna (Sabine Timoteo), the troubled young woman with insomnia who Michael is spying on, are strangers. Once they come together, the film’s shrewd structure takes them on a captivating journey accompanied by a nicely judged score. [15]
