A cowboy falls for a beautiful drifter and becomes involved with a nomadic group of vampires. With great performances from Adrian Pasdar and Jenny Wright as lovers Caleb and Mae, and Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton and Jeanette Goldstein, who had all appeared together in James Cameron’s Aliens (1986), as the bloodthirsty gang. The second feature from director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, Point Break) is an innovative, atmospheric horror that cleverly fuses vampire mythology with the traditions of the western.
