The great lost stars of Mexican boxing, in a documentary that packs a serious punch.

The city of Merida in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula has been home to five world boxing champions. This dynamic, elegantly-made and colourful documentary relates the tales of triumph and rivalry, and seeks out the survivors – many of them still living where history left them. With magnificent characters, vibrant storytelling and a briskly knowledgeable take on its subject, this is an expertly made and thoroughly enjoyable account.

Beautifully shot documentary with a very human touch. This film is similar in feel to Buena Vista Social Club in the way it tells the story of five, largely forgotten, heroes. Highly recommended.
