The year’s most riveting nature film.

Disney returns to the cinematic nature documentary for the first time in sixty years, with this ravishing and gripping account of the life cycle of one of the world’s most beautiful birds. At Lake Natron in Northern Tanzania, a million lesser flamingos face off harsh conditions and hungry predators to survive. With music by The Cinematic Orchestra and a voiceover by Mariella Frostrup, this beautiful film takes us deep into the birds’ world.

The beautiful photography in this film was spoilt for me by the intrusive completely over the top sound track. It was a blessed relief when it occasionally stopped and nature provided its own sound effects. In addition the narrative was over dramatised and dare I say it corny, spoken in quasi reverential tones by Mariella Frostrup. Is this really a film festival film? It seemed to have Disney all over it

Fantastic, poetic spectacle made even more magical by the perfectly paced and uplifting musical score!
