Only When I Dance
Some people dance for fun. For others, it’s their life.
Ballet may be seen as the domain of the wealthy élite, but to gifted teenagers Isabela and Irlan it’s the key to escaping their impoverished lives in Complexo do Alemão, one of the most violent favelas in Rio. This vibrant documentary follows the two as they attend trials with some of the world’s most important dance companies, whilst their families fight to find the money required to keep their children’s dreams alive.
