How to make a blockbuster – Nigerian-style...

Nigeria's movie industry produces between one and two thousand films a year, making it the world's third-largest after those of India and America. Lurid, lo-fi, and distributed straight to DVD, Nollywood movies boast zero artistic kudos and are little-known outside their homeland – but their local popularity is such that even the evangelical church has taken to using them to spread its gospel. This energetic, informative documentary lifts the lid on a film business phenomenon.

Actually, while Nollywood has a long way to go artistically, its popularity is quite vast throughout Africa and the diaspora, particularly in the UK, North America and the Caribbean.

And, on May 6 of this year, it was officially the second largest producer of filmed product (it's almost entirely on video) after Bollywood.

A little research never hurt, especially when purporting to espouse fact.
