I can't say I've seen any of Shanes films let alone consider myself a fan but I'm a budding film maker so I'm trying my best to see as many director/make-up lady/DoP Q&As as I can....and this one was UNBELIEVABLE!!
Shane and Mark seem to be proper proper TOP blokes, I absolutely LOVE their approach to film making!! I've been to the Sam Mendes talk, the Darron Aronofksy talk, this one was the *BEST*! Hearing them say things that I've only hoped and dreamed could be done with films was such an amazing inspiration - ie two fingers to the system, we're making a film and that's that - this session has really invigorated my belief that really ANYONE can go out and make a film! It's not about what equipment you have, it's not about how much money you have, cameras have never been so accessable to the masses as they are now, if you want to go make a film then just blimin' well do it, film it on your phone if you have to, if it's a good story and it's shot to the best of everyones abilities then it'll be watchable and you'll get recognised!
JUST GO AND DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know for sure I will be :D
