Unafraid to expose the shocking brutality of murder, writer/ director Thomas Sieben cleverly weaves together a chilling study of a serial killer and a story of damaged love. In this muted, beautifully composed film, stillness and realism serve to heighten the sudden shocks it so dramatically delivers. Crucially, Ken Duken, investing his character with a magnetic, vacant humanity, is superb in the terrifying lead role.
