Legendary actress Sharmila Tagore was just 13 when she played Devi, one of the most beautiful performances in cinema. Satyajit Ray is best known for his Apu trilogy, but this gorgeous, passionate work of anti-clericism is every bit as good. As the pressure builds upon her, Tagore appears on the screen as if from within a Raphael painting.
