The UK’s coolest short film scheme returns to EIFF.

Cinema Extreme was created in 2002 by the UK Film Council’s New Cinema Fund and Film4 to encourage and develop filmmakers with a distinctive directorial voice and cinematic flair. Previously commissioned films have been shown at festivals around the world and won many awards, from the Edinburgh Nomination for the Prix UIP Award for Best Short at EIFF for Simon Ellis’ Soft to the Oscar® for Best Short Film for Andrea Arnold’s Wasp.

Cinema Extreme is managed by The Bureau. The UK Film Council’s investment in shorts is managed by Lifesize Pictures.

This was the worst hour and ha half I've ever spent in a cinema! Four cpretentious pieces of nonsense with no point to them at all. "You're the stranger here" was especially bad. I would love to hear the director explain what the *** it was supposed to be about! t makes me angry that so many good films don't get made and crap like this appeared to get money thrown at it.
