Winning at BAFTA
EIFF premieres win at BAFTA Scotland Awards...
The great and the good of Scottish talent were out in force last night as the British Academy Scotland Awards took place, and EIFF premieres were among the winners.
The big award of the night for Feature Film went to Donkeys, the Morag McKinnon directed film starring James Cosmo and Kate Dickie that had its World Premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2010. Cosmo also took home the Best Actor trophy for his role in the film as Alfred, a 64-year-old man trying to bring his family back together and make amends for his past actions.
The Cineworld Audience Award went to another EIFF World Premiere, Fast Romance, Carter Ferguson’s directing debut from 2011. Finally, in the animation category the winner was Fixing Luka by Jessica Ashman. The delightful short was screened at EIFF 2011 in the animation strand Animation Interactions.
