Toy Story racing to success
EIFF Premiere Toy Story 3 has had another cracking weekend at the Box Office and is now the third biggest animated film of all time, with the number one slot in its sights.
The movie quickly sold out every performance when screened at EIFF 2010, a month prior to its UK release. On its second weekend, the film remains in the top spot having taken £8.1 million - almost double that of its closest rival.
The 3D adventure has now overtaken every other Disney-Pixar release apart from Toy Story 2, but with 5 weeks of the summer holidays still to go, it could easily become the biggest grossing animated movie of all time at the UK box office.
More than 75% of audiences have chosen to experience the movie in 3D - a sure sign of the technology's success in adding extra appeal to films.
Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) today announced the appointment of Mark Adams to the position of Artistic Director.
