Get the Best of the Fest with our new EIFF 2010 iPhone app!

This year, we are offering the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Festival directly from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

And guess what? It's absolutely free!

If you are out and about at the Festival, forgot your brochure, or don't have time to visit the box office, just whip out your device and have a browse right there on the street!

If you don't have an iPhone, you can always use your iPod Touch - just sign into the free wifi at the Filmhouse.

On the EIFF 2010 app, developed by Loc8 Solutions, you'll find all of the features of the main website in an easy to browse format.

Check out what's on in the Films tab, use the in-built maps to navigate your way to all of our venues, and access information all the information you desire from ticket prices to frequently asked questions.

You can also book tickets directly through the app. Simply find the screening you want to watch and tap the phone symbol to place a call directly to the Filmhouse box office.

Need a little convincing about a movie? You can also watch trailers and EIFFtv episodes on your hand-held device. The app will automatically update with all of the latest news as soon as it's posted online.

And if you're a scheduling nut, use the My Festival tab to create a personal calendar of films. It's an easy way to keep yourself organised, and you'll never miss a screening. Simply select the star symbol beneath each film entry to add it to My Festival.

The app has only just launched, so keep an eye out for upgrades!

To download the app, click here or search the iTunes App Store for "EIFF 2010". It's free to use, easy to browse, and is approximately 62 grams lighter than the paper brochure!

Great app and very useful, but I noticed it doesn't include the first showing of Donkeys so look forward for the upgrade to include it.

Just what I was hoping for, thanks. I note it doesn't seem to include the Monsters showing at 18:00 on the 19th, if you're looking for gaps.

Really an excellent app, but like Stephen I wanted to comment on the missing Donkeys listing.
