Introducing ... ReelScotland

Since its soft-launch in March 2010, our friends over at ReelScotland have been churning out some excellent content, covering the best in film and television from a Scottish perspective.

ReelScotland features reviews and articles on the latest cinema releases alongside previews, interviews, and articles on all areas of Scottish film and cinema culture.

Recent features include articles on rural community cinema; weekly round-ups of Scotland's unique films and events; interviews with Doctor Who's Karen Gillan and Glasgow-based distributors Park Circus; and reviews of the latest cinema releases.

"There's a huge amount going on in Scotland when it comes to films and cinema, much of it simply not covered by the mainstream press or online sources, certainly not in any depth," says site owner, Jonathan Melville.

"We're keen to show that diversity on ReelScotland, and want to cover both high-profile and less well-known aspects of the industry in an accessible way without ever appearing parochial."

ReelScotland has published a new interview with EIFF Artistic Director Hannah McGill. This fantastic feature serves as an introduction to their in-depth coverage of the Festival from the website's lead writers: Jonathan Melville, Ross Maclean, and Richard Bodsworth.

We look forward to their coverage of the festival, and suggest you visit them over at or follow them on Twitter at
