Salvage set for cinemas
High intensity horror flick Salvage, one of the 2009 Festival's underground hits, is set for a cinematic release in March.
Salvage received a World Premiere in the Night Moves strand, receiving a fantastic reaction from audiences, and the low-budget Liverpudlian production has had a remarkable run since.
The film was a result of a competition - the Digital Departures Initiative - in which filmmakers pitched for funding. Salvage was one of the three winners and secured £250,000.
The intriguing plot - the story of a cul-de-sac which comes under siege - was brought to the big screen by first-time director Laurence Gough.
Following the World Premiere at EIFF, it started to pick up a mountain of international buzz on horror websites and forums, and the flick is now set for a limited theatrical distribution from 19 March.
