Festival firsts whet the appetite
As the full programme launch on 6 May approaches, we reveal the details of two exciting new strands at EIFF - Cinematic Television and the Paradise Movie Hall.
The full EIFF programme launch may be only a week away but, in a special preview, we can reveal some early details to whet your appetite.
Cinematic Television is an EIFF first - a marriage of cinema and televison made in heaven. It will feature UK Premieres of high concept TV dramas on the big screen.
The first two episodes of the much-anticipated vampire drama True Blood, from the creator of Six Feet Under, will be screened along with the 'first week' of brand new HBO drama In Treatment, starring Gabriel Byrne.
Another first for EIFF is the Paradise Movie Hall, curated by filma writer and broadcaster Mark Cousins.
St Johns Church Hall will be converted into a magical forest cinema, screening a three day spectacular of Bengali cinema and featuring an on-stage interview with Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore. Click here to see the full line-up and watch EIFFtv's exclusive interview with Mark Cousins.
The full programme will be revealed on Wednesday 6 May - be sure the date is in your diary.
Tickets for all films and events go on sale at midday on Friday 8 May.
