We at the EIFF believe there is no better judge of the quality of a film than our discerning audience. The Standard Life Audience Award is your chance to set a movie on the road to success.

Previous winners of the award demonstrate the EIFF audience's great taste in movies. Last year’s winner Tsotsi was little known prior to the 2005 EIFF but, since scooping the Standard Life Audience Award, has gone on to Oscar success. Other previous winners include Amelié, Rabbit-Proof Fence and The Buena Vista Social Club.

So how do you have your say? It’s easy. On the way in to screenings of the films showing in our Gala and British Gala programmes (see below) Audience Award staff will hand you a voting slip. You’ll be advised of the simple voting procedure immediately before the start of the film. At the conclusion of the film simply tear off the statement which most reflects your view of the film and retain the main body of the voting slip. Audience Award staff will be waiting to take your votes as you exit the cinema.
