Once the red carpet was rolled up, and the Opening Night film had screened, all thoughts turned to the more... celebratory element of the festival: the Opening Night Party.

The Edinburgh Corn Exchange was transformed into a palace of groove, in keeping with the party’s theme of ‘cocktail with a 1960’s twist.’ Rocking the dance floor were Djs including Groovediggaz, and Freestyle Love Supreme, a New York act that mixes live music, comedy and hip hop.

Opening night is the culmination of months of extremely hard work, and after such a successful launch to the festival, EIFF staff (and guests), all stylishly attired, congratulated themselves by celebrating into the wee hours of the morning.
