An interview with Dave Ladd and David Drummond, the masterminds behind the Mirrorball Programme, in which they reveal the long awaited details about the 10th anniversary Mirrorball party.
AA: So I hear that Mirrorball is having a wee get-together this year?
DL: Yeah, to celebrate our 10th birthday, we’re throwing ourselves a party at The Venue on Saturday, 20th August. And it’s gonna be huge.
AA: But it will, of course, be a civilized and proper occasion?
DL: Well, being the stuff of legend, Mirrorball parties follow a strict code of friendliness, booziness and lateness.
AA: Sounds good to me. And what sort of musical entertainment is being provided?
DD: Well we’ve got James ‘Unkle’ Lavelle, Funkstörung, Mr. Meaks from The Streets, Ritchie Rufftone, the Scottish DMC Champion, and Craig Jamieson from Modern Lovers all confirmed. But there will also be special guest DJ’s and a few more surprises thrown in as well.
DL: So if this sounds like a party, then come help us celebrate. It kicks off at 10pm, and goes until late. It’ll be sweet.
AA: OK, very important, where can people get tickets?
DD: Tickets are £12.50, and are available in advance from the Box Office on 0131 623 8030, or online. But you’ll also be able to get them at the door on the night.
AA: So just to make sure I’ve got this correct: The Mirrorball 10th anniversary party will be at The Venue, 15-21 Calton Road, on Saturday, 20th August. Doors open at 10pm, the party goes 'til really late, and for £12.50 I get three floors of Mirrorball visuals, and hours and hours of unadulterated listening pleasure?
DL: Yes, and you can get tickets now, or at the door. You know you want to!
AA: Sounds good. See you there!
