By the time the Film Festival wraps up, you'll be able to impress your friends with your in-depth cinematic knowledge!
A unique course that allows you a behind-the-scenes view of the Film Festival, offered in partnership with Open Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
'An Insight into the Edinburgh International Film Festival' offers you the opportunity to attend eight Film Festival screenings and a variety of exclusive Industry Events. The day starts with a small group, tutor-led discussion, followed by a lecture contextualising the film(s) to be shown later that day. EIFF Artistic Director Shane Danielsen will also present two lectures relating to the Michael Powell Retrospective programme. In addition, a Network Pass will give you access to the EIFF Delegate Centre and to the Industry Events.
No previous knowledge is required but an optional short course 'Introduction to Film Studies' is available just before the start of the Festival.
The Network Pass and tickets for seven films as well as the Opening Night Film and Party which kick off the Festival are all included in the course fee.
The class runs Wednesday 17th - Tuesday 23rd August, from 10:00am (times dependent on screenings, etc.) The first meeting will be at 4.30pm on Wednesday 17th August for an induction prior to the Opening Night Film & Party.
