The EIFF Box Office got off to a roaring start yesterday, smashing all previous opening day sales figures. £39,000 in ticket sales, plus two sold out screenings of Joss Whedon's Serenity equal a busy day at the Box Office!
Serenity fans needn’t worry though; EIFF has added two new screenings, one on Wednesday 24th August, and a second as part of the Best of Fest line-up on Sunday 28th August.
Serenity aside, plenty of other films are also doing brisk business, with the Thursday 18th August screening of Marilyn Hotchkiss’ Ballroom Dancing & Charm School already sold out- although there are still tickets available for the Sunday 21st August screening. On a Clear Day, Green Street, and Mirrormask are also selling well, according to the Box Office staff at the Filmhouse. And not surprisingly, this year’s exceptionally strong line-up of Reel Life interviews, in-depth conversations with the likes of Paul Schrader, Thelma Schoonmaker and Anthony Minghella are also selling quickly.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll keep you updated on tickets sales and any additional screenings and events. In the meantime, browse through our programme, or check out the film info on this site- there are hundreds of amazing films still waiting to be discovered.
Winners of EIFF 2014’s short film awards and two of its documentary premieres have been nominated for 2015 BAFTAs.
