Every year, EIFF Young Programmers select films and curate the youth section of the festival's main programme.
EIFF Young Programmers is open to teenagers aged 15-19 yrs old who are interested in viewing and selecting films for the Edinburgh International Film Festival. This year, from January to April, the group will meet every Wednesday to watch new short and feature films and to select the very best for EIFF.
This is an excellent opportunity for young people that are serious about film to take part in a well-established, vibrant and innovative film festival. They will watch a selection of shorts and feature films – all of which are UK premieres – discuss and choose those which you believe should be included in the festival programme. After defending those choices to our Artistic Director, they will then decide on appropriate scheduling depending on our audience.
All participants will have an opportunity to meet filmmakers and industry professionals using their EIFF student pass which gives access to industry events, press and industry screenings and lots of other great events and benefits. In return, we ask that participants to show commitment and enthusiasm and provide us with a review of their experiences at EIFF.
If you would like to take part, please let us know. To make the most of this opportunity you should be available every Wednesday 4.30pm-6.30pm starting on the 21 January 2015 to the end of April and then again during the festival (17th-28th June 2015). Please contact Nicola Kettlewood to register your interest on 0131 228 6382 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winners of EIFF 2014’s short film awards and two of its documentary premieres have been nominated for 2015 BAFTAs.
