The Edinburgh and the Lothians Schools Film Competition is open to all pupils in nursery, primary and secondary education within the City of Edinburgh, East, West and Midlothian establishments. The competition sees selected films share the festival limelight with leading filmmakers from around the world.
We are delighted to once again partner with City of Edinburgh Council and Screen Education Edinburgh to give young people in Edinburgh the chance to have their film selected for the Festival and screened alongside leading filmmakers. Now in its seventh year, the competition is open to all pupils in nursery, primary and secondary education. Work is viewed and selected by a Youth Jury who curates the programme and awards ceremony as presented at the Festival in June. The young filmmakers literally share a stage with leading filmmakers from across the world, so it is an excellent opportunity for any aspiring Spielberg.
This year the Edinburgh Schools Film Competition is kindly supported by the Turtleton Charitable Trust.
