Media Days

These hugely popular events offer an exciting learning experience for students and teachers, allowing an exclusive insight into the Film Industry.

Media Day 1: Thursday 19th June, 10.00 - 15.30, Filmhouse, £6 per pupil, Suitable for S5 & S6
Media Day 2: Wednesday 25th June, 10.00 - 15.30, Filmhouse, £6 per pupil, Suitable for S5 & S6

Accompanying teachers free
Doors at venue open 09.30. With breaks at lunchtime and mid-afternoon.

Each of our Media Days include the screening of a film premiere as well as the unique opportunity to hear from visiting film professionals. These events are suitable for S5 & S6 students and will be of particular interest to those taking Higher Media Studies or English. 

 

The schedule for Media Day 1 on 19th June is:
Session 1 – Certification - BBFC Presentation by Head of Education Lucy Brett
Sesson 2 – Producing Documentaries - Mick McAvoy(STV) discussed his work including award winning Fire In the Night
Session 3 – Short film and Q&A with visiting filmmaker
Feature film from EIFF Programme and Q&A with visiting filmmakers

The schedule for Media Day 2 on 25th June:
Session 1 - Careers in VFX – Hazel Gow (Axis Animation) in conversation with Yen Yau from Into Film
Session 2 - Practical filmmaking workshop delivered by Into Film
Session 3 - Games Industry – led by Brian Baglow
Feature film from EIFF Programme and Q&A with visiting filmmakers
