Edinburgh Schools Film Competition

Open to all Primary and Secondary Schools in Edinburgh the Film Schools Competition takes place for the first time at the 2008 EIFF. All films are made during the past 18 months (preceding the submission date in March 2008), and are up to 10 minutes in length. Schools have been invited to submit dramas, documentaries, animation, or moving image material for the web that has been created at school.

The selected work will be premiere on the following dates during the Festival:

  • Thursday 19 June 10am – 11.30pm (schools performance)
For the best films from Edinburgh‘s Primary Schools
  • Fri 20th June 10am – 11.30pm (schools performance)
For the best films from Edinburgh‘s Secondary Schools
  • Sat 21st June: 10am is Primary School work, 12pm is Secondary School work.
FREE tickets will be available from the Festival box office from 9 May

All year we have been rounding up new films made by pupils of Edinburgh schools and a panel of young people from Pilton Video have been selecting the very best for screening at the Festival. Come along and spot the filmmakers of the future.

Our thanks to Pilton Video for their administration of this project and to City of Edinburgh Council for their support.
