Tape Checking Assistant
Position filled for 2009.
4 weeks June
The tape checking assistant is responsible for checking through, in advance, the many films that we screen on tape formats. The purpose of this is to identify any faulty tapes, and also to ensure that we have the correct technical information about the tapes so that we can provide the best possible service to projection teams. The job involves use of professional broadcast decks, as well as data entry in our filemaker database. In addition to these functions, the tape-checking assistant will at times act as a production runner, when we need work done at any of several post-production houses in Leith. The person doing the job should be self-sufficient, have great attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a technical environment. Basic experience in the technical side of filmmaking is a plus.
The schedule for this post is full time leading up to the Festival. Once the Festival is started, although your schedule is more part time, your help may be required urgently.
