Technical Coordinator
Position filled for 2009.
5 planning days spread from end of March - end May. 3 weeks full time in June
Looking here for someone experienced in the technical aspect of live events, and who loves all this entails from the planning stage to the hairs standing up on the back of your neck last minute stuff. Reporting to the Head of Technical you will be responsible for the forward planning of technical provision for EIFF 2009. You will work closely with the Screenings team who schedule all the cinemas where the technical requirements vary from one microphone to full scale day long installs of audio and visual equipment. You will also work with all the other Festival departments who have technical requirements eg Press for their conferences and Industry for their training events. It goes without saying you need a sound working knowledge of video and audio equipment. You also need to be able to schedule, motivate and manage a team of technical assistants and volunteers so communication must be a strong point. During the actual Festival you must attend the 8.30am planning meetings every day. So please only apply if you know you can get up in the morning without fail.
