This is a fantastic intern opportunity for someone who wants work experience in event management, project management, marketing and sponsorship. This will appeal to someone who takes a pride in their organisational skills and who enjoys being part of a small team and is able to use on his/her own initiative. While each member of the department has specific responsibilities, it is the combined success of the team that is significant, and an involvement with the wider activities of the department is vital. Candidates should have some office experience to ensure they have the necessary organisational and administrative skills needed for this post. Although previous experience in an arts organisation is not essential, the post is unlikely to appeal to someone without an enthusiasm for and interest in the arts. An understanding of sponsorship; why firms sponsor, what they are able to achieve and the benefits it brings to organisations such as the CMI would be useful.
