PLACEMENTS (All Departments)
Guest Services Assistant
Position filled for 2013.
Early April - early July, 1 full-time post. Flexible working will be considered.
In this placement you will learn about our hospitality services for festival guests.
The Guest Services team invites up to 200 filmmakers and 150 industry guests, arranging their travel, accommodation and public schedules, and assisting in their enquiries in the lead-up to the Festival. In this role you will help log and update our Guest database, assist with research, chase up information, answer queries from other departments and, with training and support, have opportunities to communicate directly with some of our Festival guests. During the Festival you may be required to help the frontline welcome desk. Any languages you may have could be put to good use in this role.
It is a busy and varied position, and the perfect opportunity to understand the nitty-gritty of how the Programming, Screenings and Guest departments pull together to bring the EIFF to life in June. You'll also get a good appreciation of the film industry infrastructure.
If you like to be administratively minded, organised and are good at communicating with people, you will enjoy this role.
EIFF Placements are mentored, learning opportunities, providing valuable work experience within a specific team at the Festival. Please see the EIFF Recruitment Policy in the introduction section for further information on EIFF Placements.
