The Picture Desk Editor manages the Festival’s Photography team and the production of that year’s Festival photography library, including the collating, filing and distribution of imagery.
Working to a Photography Brief provided by the Marketing Manager, the Picture Desk Editor helps to ensure the Festival has high quality images available for press and promotional purposes, both for use during the Festival itself and for longer-term needs of different departments.
The photographers will need to cover a broad range of Festival activity across long Festival hours including red-carpet entrances, live Q&A’s, talks and events, functions and parties, press conferences and photo calls, sponsorship branding, audience reactions etc. This is a fast paced role, managing large quantities of data, requiring meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to select and edit photographs with tight turnarounds, making decisions which directly impact upon EIFF’s public and professional profile.
