Guest Services Manager
Position filled for 2013.
Early March - mid July. 1 full-time post.
The Guest Services Manager oversees and plays a key role in delivering of all aspects of guest hospitality for the festival. Guests include filmmakers, jury, industry and press.
You will report directly to the Deputy Artistic Director and - with the support of the Guest Services team, Drivers Coordinator, Jury and Hospitality Coordinators - ensure all travel, accommodation arrangements and official appearances are meticulously arranged and within budget. You will also be responsible for organising tickets, translators and babysitters if necessary and will work closely with the Registration Coordinator who delivers the front line welcome desk for guests during the Festival.
Film industry or film festival experience at a similar level is essential if you are to come out of this in one piece. It is vital that you are experienced managing staff and volunteers, looking after many clients (in the 100's) and handling a large volume of information that is constantly changing. You must be a very effective and sympathetic manager of people.
This is a rewarding but demanding role. You need to be very flexible, calm and have excellent organisational, budgeting and admin skills. You will be a confident and effective communicator. Languages are an advantage. A sense of humour is helpful.
