Born in Berlin in 1980, director and editor Ling Lee worked as a Graphic Designer and Photographer before coming to study at Edinburgh College of Art in 2007. Her short film Lo que me queda de Vos won the 2008 Scottish Students On Screen Experimental Award and was nominated for the Royal Television Student Awards.
The Edge of Dreaming, directed by Amy Hardie, is Ling’s first feature-length documentary as an editor. It premiered in 2009 at IDFA. Ling’s work ranges from documentaries, music videos, installation art and other experimental work. In 2006 she won a PRS Foundation award to perform an audio-visual performance in collaboration with musician Brian d’Souza.
Currently a postgraduate student in Documentary Direction at the NFTS, Ling is about to finish her graduation documentary shot in China this year.
