Ralitza grew up in Bulgaria during the times of perestroika, the wisdoms of which she still finds a source of inspiration. In early life she studied sculpture and photography, and later film at the London College of Communication and the National Film and Television School in England. Her films have screened at many international film festivals, amongst them Cannes, Berlin, London, Melbourne, and Telluride.
In 2007 her film Rotten Apple was awarded the Prix UIP Best European Short Film at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival and nominated for the European Film Awards’ 07, whilst her latest film By the
