Edinburgh International Film Festival has a strong track record of creating, shaping and managing innovative Talent Development programmes across all disciplines. Our aim is to build and expand on our previous initiatives and deliver quality programmes for filmmakers across Scotland, the UK and internationally.
Scottish Film Talent Network
SFTN is the Scottish section of the BFI NET.WORK, connecting the UK’s film agencies for the first time, bringing together experienced development teams and talent centres to offer hands-on and holistic development opportunities for promising UK writers, directors and producers who are yet to make their first feature film. Please go to the SFTN website - www.scottishfilmtalent.com for further information on the range of funding and development opportunities available.
EIFF Talent Lab 2014
The EIFF Talent Lab once again welcomed thirty emerging directors, producers and screenwriters to take part in our four day programme of workshops, roundtables, and individually tailored career and development advice sessions. Participants were provided with the opportunity to be inspired and mentored by key industry professionals.
EIFF Animation Lab 2014
New for 2014, the Animation Lab offered forty emerging animation filmmakers a two day programme of events, masterclasses and networking opportunities during EIFF.
EIFF Composers Lab 2014
Supported by the Creative Scotland Creative Futures fund, EIFF is delighted to have run the fourth edition of our Composers Lab. Over five days in June, eight emerging Scottish composers were given the opportunity to talk with and learn from working industry composers and music professionals.
EIFF is delighted to be running our online development and mentoring programme in 2014. Network offers participants access to an array of mentoring, support, advice and access to industry professionals over a nine month period.
Together with story editor Kate Leys, EIFF supports participants to build their own networks within Network and offers opportunities for development remotely rather than via residencies.
This initiative is funded by the Creative Skillset Film Skills Fund and by Creative Scotland's Creative Futures Fund.
Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) today announced the appointment of Mark Adams to the position of Artistic Director.
