Edinburgh International Film Festival has a strong track record of creating, shaping and managing innovative Talent Development programmes across all disciplines. Our aim is to build and expand on our previous initiatives and deliver quality programmes for filmmakers across Scotland, the UK and internationally.
EIFF Talent Lab 2013
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
The EIFF Talent Lab will welcome thirty emerging directors, producers and screenwriters to take part in our four day programme of workshops, roundtables, and individually tailored career and development advice sessions. Participants will be offered the opportunity to be inspired and mentored by established professinals from their chosen fields.
As part of this year's programme we are pleased to again be able to support four of our Scottish producer partiicpants to attend the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2013. We will provide a bespoke schedule of meetings and networking opportunities to help them get the most out of this opportunity.
2013 Composers Lab and Sound Lab
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
Supported by the Creative Scotland Creative Futures fund, EIFF is delighted to confirm the third year of our Composers Lab. Over five days, eight emerging composers will be given the opportunity to talk with and learn from working industry composers.
We are also thrilled to announce our continuing partnership with Savalas, one of the UK's leading sound post production companies to run the Sound Lab for emerging Sound Designers. This is a truly unique opportunity for our eight participants. We will emphasise the creative practice of film sound design and demonstrated this with hands on experience in a real feature film facility.
2013 PARTICIPANTS ANNOUNCED!
Following a successful first year we are delighted to announce that we are running our online development and mentoring programme for a second year in 2013. Network offers participants access to a wide variety of information, industry professionals and online video content from useful industry events.
Together with story editor Kate Leys, EIFF will support participants to build their own networks within Network and offer opportunities for development remotely rather than via residencies.
This initiative is funded by the Creative Skillset Film Skills Fund and by Creative Scotland's Creative Futures Fund.

Rotterdam Lab 2014
In partnership with the International Film Festival Rotterdam, EIFF is delighted to provide three Scottish producers with the opportunity to attend the Rotterdam Lab in January 2014.
As a nominating partner, EIFF will select emerging producers to attend the Lab where they will take part in a 5-day programme of workshops and networking opportunities designed to develop their international networks and their experience of international film festival and market.
This initiative is supported by the Scottish Government's Edinburgh Festival Expo Fund and Creative Scotland.
