Scottish Documentary Institute presents: Commissioning Editors Workshop and Pitching Forum
09:15 at Scottish Storytelling Centre
A unique opportunity for industry professionals and newcomers to listen to 12 selected filmmakers pitching their documentaries to an international panel of commissioning editors, sales agents and experts. Listen to the feedback, learn about the international documentary market and network with your peers and the decision-makers. The best project is up for an award of £6,000.
The 12 projects have been pre-selected from independents and companies who are developing and raising finance for creative documentaries (52 – 90 min) and international co-productions. The day before The Pitch each filmmaker will attend an intensive workshop run by Line Sandsmark of European Documentary Network (EDN) to prepare for the forum, and the event will be concluded with private one-to-one meetings on 19 June. Applications were open to all UK and international filmmakers.
Already confirmed for the 2009 panel are: Wim Van Rompaey, (Lichtpunt, Belgium); Doris Hepp, (ZDF/ARTE, Germany); Leslie Finlay (Scottish Screen, Scotland); Tabitha Jackson (Channel4/More4, UK); Outi Saarikoski (YLE, Finland); Beadie Finzi (Britdoc, UK); Line Sandsmark (EDN, Denmark); Ewan Angus (BBC Scotland); Yance Ford (PBS/POV, USA)
