UK Film Council presents: Short Filmmakers Breakfast

Are you a filmmaker working on a short film? Maybe you have completed a short film and wonder what to do next? The UK Film Council is offering new talent the opportunity for an informal chat over breakfast with delegates from some of the key industry organisations and companies working with new talent. All you have to do is sign up and then show up.
There will be at least one host to each table of up to ten, including representatives from the UK Film Council’s New Cinema Fund, the British Council Films Department, BBC Film Network, Brief Encounters Short Film Festival and various regional and national screen agencies. Definitive lists of representatives for each morning will be available in the Industry Office on the sign-up sheets.

Using a unique blend of social networking, education and online entertainment, the Central Station platform is aimed at people who want to find new, participatory ways of engaging with the arts, film and broadcast media.
As our digital experience accelerates, are multi-platform, multi-strand, multi-activity environments like Central Station, the inevitable destination? And is this style of platform the next stop en-route to the democratic future of tv and film?

Co-production Explained

Working with international partners is part of every successful producer’s strategy.
An understanding of co-production treaties and how they open up international sources of production funding, is an essential part of their toolkit. ??
Isabel Davis, the UK Film Council’s Senior Executive for International Strategy and Co-production, will give an overview of the UK’s co-production treaties and how they work. Leading producers Alan Harris, Managing Director of Atlantic Films (Dean Spanley, The Ferryman) and Soledad Gatti-Pascual (Unmade Beds, Noi the Albino) will share their first hand experiences of working with partners in other countries and discuss how best to foster relationships and benefit from international sources of funding.
Guerilla Films presents: Meet the Experts
12:00 - 15:00 at the Sheraton Hotel
Now in its 10th year Meet the Experts has helped countless filmmakers (writers/ directors/producers/actors etc) find development and production finance, distribution, International sales agents, directors, producers, writers and other partners who have helped realise their film.
Delegates and filmmaker guests may sign up for a 20-minute session with the panel, by providing a cv and project outline to the industry office. Space is limited and projects will be selected according to quality of the material supplied.
All projects are treated in confidence and the goal of the panel is provide the filmmaker with practical advice in moving the project onto the next stage.
Tales from the Digital Frontier: Day 2

EIFF industry delegates are invited to attend a series of cutting-edge presentations and panels on the afternoons of Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June. This unique programme will reveal how digital pioneers are using the Internet and digital tools to market, distribute and sell their work, creating new alternatives to the theatrical-led model.
Anyone interested in staying up-to-date on the latest new media developments won't want to miss this rare opportunity to hear international experts report directly from the digital frontier.
